One Charged with Criminal Harassment, Uttering Threats
On March 22, 2024, detectives with Investigation Services, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, charged 46-year-old Jeffrey MacDonald with criminal harassment and uttering threats.
On March 6, 2024, Sault Police received reports of numerous threatening emails and social media posts sent by the accused dating back to 2019. Further investigation revealed the accused had also threatened members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service on social media between December 2023 and February 2024.
On March 22, 2024, officers attended the accused’s residence, and they were arrested without incident.
The accused is charged with:
- Criminal Harassment
- Uttering Threats x3
The accused was held in custody pending a hearing in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court and released on bail.
