On September 25, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 40-year-old Melissa Vowels with assault with a weapon, mischief, and other offences.
Around 11:15 p.m. on September 24, 2026, 911 Communicators received multiples reports of a disturbance involving a person with knives in the 1000 block of Second Line West. Officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed the accused had verbally threatened two victims while holding a knife, threw an object at them, and used the knife to damage property. The victims and accused are known to one another. No physical injuries were reported.
Around 12:00 a.m. on September 25, 2026, the accused was arrested.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
