On September 24, 2026, officers with the Emergency Services Unit, with assistance from Investigation Services and Patrol Services, charged 20-year-old Nicholas Sachro with assault with a weapon, assault, and other offences.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of an assault in the 0-100 block of Canal Drive. Police and EMS were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed the accused had punched one victim multiple times and assaulted them with a knife, and had verbally threatened and grabbed a second youth victim. The first victim sustained minor physical injuries.
Around 8:30 p.m., officers located and arrested the accused at their residence.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault x2
- Assault with a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x4
- Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
