Driver Charged with Operation while Impaired
On March 4, 2023, officers in Patrol Services charged 22-year-old Abel Abraham with operation while impaired.
Around 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a 911 call about a single vehicle collision on North Street. Upon arrival, officers found a car in a snowbank. Officers spoke with the driver, later identified as the accused, and developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The accused provided two breath samples into an approved device, and both times registered a reading above the legal limit. The accused was arrested and charged with,
• Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
• Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
• Dangerous Operation
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on May 1, 2023.
