Youth Charged with Assault with Weapon
On June 23, 2024, officers charged a 13-year-old with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and carrying a concealed weapon.
Around 11:30 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a youth shooting at an adult victim with a pellet gun in the 300 block of John Street. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the accused in the area of Wellington Street West and Boydell Place. Upon speaking with the accused, they revealed their pellet gun to officers. They were arrested.
The victim did not sustain any physical injuries. The victim and the accused are not known to one another.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault With Weapon
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 27, 2024.
