Victim Struck with Hammer, One Charged with Assault with a Weapon
On January 27, 2025, officers with Patrol Services, with assistance from detectives in Investigation Services, charged 30-year-old Clinton Cadreau with assault with a weapon.
Around 9:20 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone with serious physical injuries at a multi-unit residential building in the 500 block of Albert Street West. Officers were dispatched to the unit, where they located the victim. An investigation revealed the accused had struck the victim multiple times in the head with a hammer , resulting in serious physical injuries. The victim was transported to hospital. The victim and accused are known to one another.
The accused was located nearby and arrested by officers. A hammer was located and seized. The accused is charged with assault with a weapon and is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
