Update: Chapple Avenue Investigation

On October 10th, 2024, officers with the Emergency Services Unit and Patrol Services arrested 28-year-old Dylan Daigle, hereby referred to as the first accused, and 30-year-old Marcus Wynne, hereby referred to as the second accused.

Around 10:00 a.m. 911 Communicators received a call about a potential firearm at a multi-unit residence in the 100 block of Chapple Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to talk with everyone involved but the first accused refused to come out of the residence.

Officers secured the scene. Members of the Emergency Services Unit, including Canine, Investigation Services and Patrol Services along with Crisis Negotiators attended the scene.
Around 1:00 p.m. the two accused and a third person that was inside the residence, were taken into custody.

While under investigative detention, further investigation determined the first accused had spit in the face of a victim following a verbal dispute. The first accused then left the area and went to another unit with the second accused. Officers also received information the second accused was in possession of weapon.
The two accused were arrested, and the third person was released unconditionally. Later, officers executed a search warrant of the residence, and a replica gun was located inside the residence.

The first accused is charged with,
• Assault
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The second accused is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The first accused was released on an undertaking. The second accused was released on an appearance notice. Both are scheduled to appear in court on December 9, 2024.
