Update: Assault Investigation
Detectives in Investigation Services continue to actively investigate a serious assault which took place on August 22, 2022.
At this time, it is believed 25-year-old Karlyle Lawrence-Bookman was assaulted between 4:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on August 22, 2022, somewhere between the 200 block of Albert Street East and the 200 block of East Street.
The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and has subsequently been transported out of Sault Ste. Marie for treatment.
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service is urging anyone with information on this assault to contact police immediately by calling Detective Sergeant Alison Campbell at 705-949-6300 ext. 288.
