Two Youth Charged with Aggravated Assault in McNabb Stabbing
On September 20, 2024, officers with Patrol Services, with assistance from the Canine Unit, Emergency Services Unit, and Investigation Services, charged two 15-year-olds with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Around 9:30 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a stabbing in the 200 block of McNabb Street. Officers were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers located a victim who had two stab wounds to their arm. The victim was transported to hospital with serious physical injuries. The two accused had already left the scene.
An investigation revealed the victim, also a youth, had been in a verbal altercation with the two accused youths who are known to them. The altercation turned physical and one of the accused assaulted the victim with a knife.
Around 9:45 p.m., both accused were located near the intersection of Pim Street and Wemyss Street and arrested.
The first 15-year-old accused is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2
The second 15-year-old accused is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
