Sudden Death Investigation

Detectives with Investigation Services are investigating the sudden death of Colton Brown and are requesting assistance from the community.

It is known Colton arrived in Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday, June 20, 2024 as part of a tour group. On the evening of Friday, June 21, Colton left the Delta Hotel on St. Mary’s River Drive. Colton was missing for a short period of time before being found deceased in the St. Mary’s River.

Colton was described as approximately 6’1” tall, slender with black bushy hair and was last seen wearing black shoes, black pants, a black coat, a blue and white checkered shirt, a black hat, and glasses.

If you saw, or had an interaction with, Colton downtown during the evening of June 21 and/or into the early morning hours of Saturday, June 22, or heard anything unusual, please contact police.

Community members are also encouraged to review security camera footage collected during that time frame.
