Sault Police Seeking Information on West End Shooting
Sault Police are seeking information about a shooting which occurred around 5:00 a.m. on July 12, 2024, in the west end of Sault Ste. Marie.
Around 5:10 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone having been shot in the area of Wellington Street East and Upton Road. Officers were dispatched to the area where they located a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation revealed the victim had been dropped off by a vehicle in the area of Wellington Street East and Upton Road after having already been injured. Detectives believe this was an isolated incident. The shooting is believed to have occurred in the city’s west end.
