One Charged with Weapon and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
On October 9, 2024, officers with the Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit charged 34-year-old Jordan Porter with weapon and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Around 8:30 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop near Bruce Street and Grosvenor Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle officers observed the accused in the passenger seat, and determined they were wanted for failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was arrested. A subsequent search of the accused found them to be in possession of a knife that opens by hand pressure applied to a button, approximately 14 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl, a digital scale, and $5,170 of Canadian currency. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $2,100.
The accused is charged with,
• Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x2
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
