One Charged with Theft of Credit Cards
On December 22, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 46-year-old Richard Thorne with theft of a credit card, possession of a stolen credit card, and theft under $5,000.
Around 9:30 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of the theft – and use – of a victim’s credit and debit cards in the 700 block of Great Northern Road. Officers were dispatched to the scene. An investigation revealed the accused had stolen the victim’s credit card, debit card, and a quantity of cash from their wallet and made several transactions using the stolen credit card. They were arrested. A search of the accused located a stolen credit card and debit card belonging to another victim. Further investigation revealed these cards had also been used in fraudulent transactions.
The accused is charged with:
- Theft of Credit Card x2
- Theft Under $5,000
- Possession of Stolen Credit Card
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on February 24, 2025.
