One Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Identity Fraud
On November 13, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 41-year-old Achilles Creighton with possession of property obtained by crime and identity fraud.
Around 9:00 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a disturbance at a parking lot in the 600 block of Trunk Road. The caller told police a person was yelling and smashing a vehicle. When police arrived, the person had already left in the vehicle.
A short time later, police received a report of another disturbance in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the person inside the vehicle described in the first incident. The person initially provided two false names to police before being identified as the accused. Investigation also revealed the vehicle driven by the accused was reported stolen to York Regional Police Service.
The accused is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Personation with Intent to Avoid Arrest, Prosecution, or Obstruct Justice (Identity Fraud)
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
