One Charged with Operation While Impaired, Prohibited
On November 8, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 50-year-old Shauna Lyons with operation while impaired and operation while prohibited.
Shortly before 9:00 p.m., Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) members notified police they had detained a suspected impaired driver. Officers were dispatched to the CBSA. Upon arrival, officers read the accused a demand for a breath sample. The accused provided multiple breath samples into an approved screening device, all of which registered above the legal limit. They were arrested.
The accused was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
- Operation While Prohibited
- Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence (under the Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on December 9, 2024.
