One Charged with Operation While Impaired, Dangerous Operation

Approved by: 1030 - December 16, 2024

On December 14, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 30-year-old Cameron Fall with operation while impaired and dangerous operation.

Around 2:00 a.m., officers patrolling Pine Street were stopped at a red light behind a vehicle at the intersection of Pine Street and McNabb Street. The traffic lights cycled from red to green to yellow twice and the vehicle ahead of the police cruiser did not move. Officers proceeded to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed the driver was asleep behind the wheel. They also noticed two open cans of alcohol in the centre console. Officers woke the driver and, upon speaking with them, developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The accused provided multiple breath samples into an approved screening device, all of which registered above the legal limit. They were arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor (under the Liquor Licence and Control Act)
  • Breach of Recognizance x4

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
