One Charged with Operation While Impaired, Causing Bodily Harm
On November 8, 2023, officers with Patrol Services charged 30-year-old Nicholas Connor with operation while impaired, operation causing bodily harm, and two other offences.
Around 4:45 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a collision involving two motor vehicles in the area of Allen’s Side Road and Yates Road. The caller told police one of the drivers had left the scene on foot. The remaining driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Officers were dispatched to the area and located the accused, who matched the description given by the caller, nearby. Upon speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The accused provided multiple breath samples into an approved screening device and all results were above the legal limit. They were arrested and transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The accused is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
- Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm
- Operation Causing Bodily Harm
- Fail to Remain (under the Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on December 11, 2023.
