One Charged with Operation While Impaired
On October 29, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 50-year-old Mark Lloyd with operation while impaired and dangerous operation.
Around 9:50 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a motor vehicle collision in a parking lot in the 1000 block of Trunk Road. The report stated a driver had hit a parked vehicle while driving and then parked and briefly fell asleep, before waking up and driving away from the scene. Officers were dispatched to the area.
Officers located the vehicle on Dacey Road and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the accused, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Officers conducted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST), and the accused performed poorly. They were arrested.
The accused was transported to the Police Services Building where they provided multiple breath samples, all of which registered above the legal limit.
The accused is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on December 2, 2024.
