One Charged with Fraud and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
On September 23, 2024, detectives with the Crime Suppression Unit charged 65-year-old Jean-Paul Leonard with fraud and possession of property obtained by crime.
On November 19, 2023, 911 Communicators received a report of a vehicle having been stolen from the 500 block of Dundas Street and sold as scrap metal. An investigation revealed the accused had towed the vehicle and sold it, receiving $480 in return. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.
The accused was located on September 23, 2024, in the 0-100 block of Churchill Avenue. They were arrested on the strength of a warrant.
The accused is charged with:
- Fraud – Under $5,000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5,000
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 25, 2024.
