One Charged with Assault with Weapon, Uttering Threats
On September 20, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 57-year-old Shawn Andress with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Around 8:00 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a stabbing in the area of East Street and Albert Street East. Officers were dispatched to the area, where they located the accused and the victim.
An investigation revealed no one had been stabbed; rather, the accused had held a pocketknife to the victim while verbally threatening them. The victim, who is known to the accused, sustained minor physical injuries. The accused was arrested.

- Assault with Weapon
- Uttering Threats
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and subsequently released with conditions.
On September 21, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of the accused sending threats to the victim via text message. An investigation revealed the accused had sent threatening messages to the victim shortly after being released on bail. The accused was located in the 100 block of East Street and arrested.
The accused is charged with:
- Uttering Threats
- Fail to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
