One Charged with Assault with Weapon
On June 24, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 18-year-old Hestin Ketola with assault with a weapon.
On June 23, 2024, 911 Communicators received a report of someone hitting a victim with a metal bat in the 600 block of Albert Street. The following day, an investigation revealed their identity as the accused, who was already in custody for a similar offence occurring on the evening of June 23.
Officers attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and re-arrested the accused.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused continues to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
