One Charged with Assault, Resist Peace Officer, Theft
On October 15, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 20-year-old Jersey Belleau with assault, resisting a peace officer, and theft under $5,000.
Around 7:15 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a theft and assault at a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road. Officers were dispatched to the business and, upon arrival, located the accused in custody of security officers. Police took custody of the accused, who refused to identify themselves. Despite physical resistance and attempt to run away, officers caught up with the accused and they were arrested.
An investigation revealed the accused had first exited the business around 6:30 p.m. with several items they had not paid for. A short time later, the accused returned to the business and attempted to leave with more items they had not paid for. They were stopped by security officers who recovered the items and asked them to leave. The accused again returned to the business shortly thereafter. When asked to leave by security officers, the accused began to assault them by pushing them and grabbing their vest.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
