One Charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm in Road Rage Incident
On February 6, 2025, officers with Patrol Services charged 65-year-old J.R. Jeanveau with assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle.
Around 2:50 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of an assault outside a business in the 400 block of Bruce Street. An investigation revealed the victim was exiting a parking spot when the suspect—later identified as the accused—began yelling at them. The accused then got out of their vehicle, reached into the victim’s vehicle, and strangled them. The victim sustained minor physical injuries. The victim and the accused are unknown to one another.
Officers were dispatched to the accused’s residence. The accused was arrested and is charged with assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on March 31, 2025.
