One Charged with Aggravated Assault
On January 4, 2025, officers with Patrol Services, with assistance from Investigation Services, charged 26-year-old Brendin Wardell-Fortier with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with a probation order.
Around 8:20 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a stabbing at a multi-unit residence building in the 400 block of Pim Street. An investigation revealed the accused, who is known to the victim, stabbed the victim multiple times while they were asleep. They then left the scene. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers located the accused in the 700 block of Wellington Street West. They were arrested.
The accused is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Failure to Comply with Probation Order x2
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
