One Charged with Aggravated Assault
On June 24, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 18-year-old Hestin Ketola with aggravated assault.
Around 7:30 p.m., officers patrolling Cathcart Street saw an injured person on the road. An ambulance was called, and the victim was taken to hospital with serious physical injuries.
An investigation revealed the accused, who is known to the victim, repeatedly struck them with a metal bat in the torso and head in the 100 block of Cathcart Street.
Shortly after midnight on June 24, officers attended an unrelated call for service where they located, and arrested, the accused.
The accused is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
