One Charged for Refusing to Comply with Breath Demand After Collision
On January 18, 2025, officers with Patrol Services charged 32-year-old Peter Maclean with failure or refusal to comply with a demand for a breath sample.
Around 10:20 p.m., officers patrolling Northern Avenue saw a motor vehicle collision between a car and a truck at the intersection of Great Northern Road and Northern Avenue and attended to assist. Upon speaking with the driver of the car, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
Officers read the accused multiple demands for a breath sample, but they refused to comply. They were arrested. No physical injuries were reported.
The accused is charged with:
- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Turn – Not in Safety (under the Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on February 28, 2025.
