Man Charged with Operation While Impaired
On February 5, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 44-year-old Randal Giguere with operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drug.
Around 9:00 p.m. officers attended Sault Area Hospital for a possible impaired driver. Upon arrival, officers approached the vehicle and identified the driver as the accused. Upon speaking with the accused, officers observed an open container of alcohol and developed grounds to believe the accused’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
Officers attempted to administer an approved screening device demand, but the accused refused. He was arrested. Further investigation determined the accused is a prohibited driver.
He is charged with,

- Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
- Operation While Prohibited
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on April 4, 2022.
