Man Charged with Operation While Impaired
On January 27, 2022, officers with Patrol Services charged 33-year-old Ryan Derasp with operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drug.
Around 11:00 a.m. officers responded to a call of a man asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle in the 600 block of MacDonald Avenue. Upon arrival the man was with paramedics.
Upon speaking with the man, he was identified as the accused and officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs.
He was arrested. A subsequent search found him to be in possession of approximately 18 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and approximately 10 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl. The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is $7,200.
He is charged with,
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
- Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 4, 2022.
