Driver Charged with Operation while Impaired
On October 9, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 46-year-old Max Goodmurphy from Echo Bay with operation while impaired.
Around 7:00 p.m. 911 Communicators received a call of someone driving erratically in the parking lot of a business in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road. Upon officer arrival they located the vehicle matching the description provided.
Officers approached the vehicle and found the driver asleep in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. Officers were able to wake the driver. Upon speaking with the accused officer’s developed grounds to believe the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
Officers placed the driver under arrest and were able to identify them as the accused.
Multiple attempts were offered for the accused to provide breathe samples into an approved device but the accused refused to provide suitable samples.
The accused is charged with,
• Operation while Impaired
• Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on November 4, 2024.
