Driver Charged with Dangerous Operation, Operation While Impaired
On February 22, 2025, officers with Patrol Services charged 32-year-old Whitney Kagige with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, and possession of a schedule I substance.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 100 block of Great Northern Road which was running, partially parked on the sidewalk, and had four people asleep inside. Officers were dispatched to the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and woke the sleeping occupants. Officers saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle and, upon speaking with the driver, developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. They were arrested.
A search of the accused located a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine. They were transported to hospital to provide a blood sample.
The accused is charged with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration
- Possession of Schedule I Substance
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2025.
