Cocaine and Firearm Seized, One Charged
On July 12, 2024, detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit and Crime Suppression Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, charged 25-year-old Brandon Labbe with numerous drug and firearm offences.
Around 8:40 p.m., detectives executed a search warrant at a unit within a multi-unit residential building in the 0-100 block of East Street. The accused was located inside. A search of the accused and the residence located approximately 16 grams of suspected cocaine, packaging materials, a digital scale, replica firearms, a loaded sawed-off rifle with the serial number tampered, ammunition, and $105 in Canadian currency. The estimated street value of drugs seized is approximately $1,693.
The accused was arrested and is charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I Substance for Purpose of Trafficking
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Careless Storage of Firearm
- Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Careless Storage of Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Serial Number Has Been Tampered With
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
