Complainants requiring a synopsis of a General Occurrence Report (GOR)can apply by visiting Information Services to fill in a Report Request Form. You must produce government issued photo identification. See See Photo Identification Standards for further acceptable identification.
GOR Synopsis Report = $50.00 (HST included). Payable by cash, credit, or debit.

A Traffic Report is available to drivers, passengers, property owners, and vehicle owners involved. The requester will be given a copy of the front portion of the traffic investigation report prepared at the time of the motor vehicle collision by a Traffic officer. The report includes the names of all parties involved, insurance particulars, brief description of the accident, and a diagram.
This request can be made...
- In person at the Traffic Services' office [payable by cash, certified cheque (by Insurance company only), money order]; OR
- By written request (letter - Attention: Traffic Services) enclosing the applicable fee.

Note: The form required for these reports is not available online. You must attend at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, 580 Second Line East, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
This area of the Service is responsible for the maintenance of data of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service's records management system, records contributed to the Canadian Police Information Centre, information gathering, processing, and dissemination. Information Services is also responsible for the administration of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
Assistance with information for insurance purposes, criminal record searches, and reception for the Police Service are handled by staff in Information Services.
