Two from Goulais River Charged with Break and Enter, Assault, and Kidnapping of Youth

On March 5, 2025, officers with Patrol Services charged 25-year-old Johnathan Corbett (hereafter referred to as the first accused) and 26-year-old Bridgette Simons (hereafter referred to as the second accused), both of Goulais River, Ontario, with kidnapping, break and enter, assault, and other offences.

Around 1:45 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a kidnapping of a youth in the 400 block of North Street. An investigation revealed the two accused broke into the victim’s residence, escorted the victim outside, struck them in the head, and placed them in a vehicle before driving away.

Officers located a vehicle matching the description in a parking lot in the 1300 block of Great Northern Road and saw the victim walking away from the vehicle. The two accused were located inside the vehicle and arrested. The victim and accused are all known to one another. The victim sustained minor physical injuries.

The first accused is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x3
  • Kidnapping
  • Mischief – Under $5,000

The second accused is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Break and Enter – Commit Indictable Offence
  • Kidnapping
  • Mischief – Under $5,000

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
