One Found in Possession of Historical Plaque, Charged
On July 15, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 41-year-old Rejean Carriere with possession of property obtained by crime.
Around 2:40 p.m., Sault Police received a report of someone in possession of a stolen historical plaque in the area of Yonge Street. Officers were dispatched to the area and saw the accused, who matched the description of the suspect. A search of the accused found them to be in possession of a plaque which was reported stolen from the 100 block of Central Park Avenue on July 13, 2024.
The accused was arrested and is charged with possession of property obtained by crime. The plaque was recovered.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on September 16, 2024.
