One Charged with Robbery, Possession of Drugs & Ammunition

On April 2, 2025, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Michael Rivers with robbery, break and enter, possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, possession of schedule I substances, and several other offences.

On March 31, 2025, 911 Communicators received a report of a robbery at a business in the 200 block of Bay Street. Officers were dispatched to the business. An investigation revealed someone had smashed a glass display case using a brick and stole more than $38,000 of merchandise from the business.

Around 8:40 a.m. on April 2, 2025, 911 Communicators received a report of a person obstructing traffic on Langdon Road. Officers were dispatched to the area, at which time 911 Communicators received a report of the same person attempting to enter the residence of someone unknown to them on Cooper Street. Officers located the accused in the 500 block of Goulais Avenue, and they were arrested.

A search of the accused located approximately 10.12 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 2.28 grams of suspected fentanyl, and three bullets. Officers determined the accused matched the description of the suspect involved in the robbery on March 31, 2025.

The accused is charged with:

  • Break and Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Careless Storage of Ammunition
  • Failure to Comply with Probation Order x10
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance x2
  • Possession of Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Robbery

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and subsequently remanded.
