One Charged with Break and Enter, Assault Peace Officer

On July 30, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 49-year-old Christopher Proulx with break and enter, assaulting and obstructing peace officers, and failing to comply with a probation order.

Around 8:45 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone attempting to kick in a door of a residence in the 500 block of North Street. Officers were dispatched to the scene and located the accused who began yelling at them. The accused was placed under investigative detention.

An investigation revealed the accused had attempted to break into two residences. When officers began conducting a search, the accused kicked an officer and resisted arrest when officers attempted to gain physical control of them. They were arrested.

The accused is charged with:

  • Break and Enter Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
  • Assault Peace Officer
  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on October 7, 2024.
