One Charged with Aggravated Assault
On July 20, 2024, officers with Patrol Services charged 18-year-old Justice Palen with aggravated assault.
Around 6:45 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of a stabbing in the 600 block of Goulais Avenue. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the accused in the 600 block of Second Line West. They were arrested. A knife was located nearby and seized.
An investigation revealed the accused had gotten into an altercation with someone known to them and stabbed them in the torso. The victim was transported to hospital with life threatening physical injuries.
The accused is charged with aggravated assault. They were held in custody pending a bail hearing and subsequently released with conditions. The accused is scheduled to appear in court on August 12, 2024.
