On July 29, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged a 14-year-old with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Around 11:30 a.m., 911 Communicators received a report of an incident involving the accused approximately 12 hours earlier in the 200 block of Northern Avenue East. An investigation revealed the accused youth pointed an imitation firearm at an adult victim in the parking lot of a multi-unit residential building. The victim and accused are known to one another. Around 10:15 p.m., officers located and arrested the accused.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on September 9, 2026.
