Southampton Driver Charged with Operation While Impaired, Dangerous Operation
On April 12, 2025, officers with Patrol Services charged 57-year-old Lara Fournier of Southampton, Ontario, with operation while impaired and dangerous operation.
Around 9:45 a.m., officers patrolling Wellington Street West saw a vehicle driving suspiciously and conducted a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by cannabis. The accused participated in a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) and performed poorly. They were arrested. The accused was then evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) who determined the accused was under the influence of drugs.
The accused is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration
- Dangerous Operation
- Glass G1 Licence Holder – Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver (under the Highway Traffic Act)
- Novice Driver – Presence of Drug (under the Highway Traffic Act)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on June 9, 2025.
