On February 25, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 43-year-old Donald Larente with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and several other offences.
On February 2, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of someone in possession of a firearm in the 0-100 block of East Street. An investigation revealed the suspect—who officers identified as the accused—had a firearm or replica firearm in their possession and concealed it in their coat. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.
Around 1:50 a.m. on February 25, 2026, officers attending an unrelated call for service located and arrested the accused on the strength of a warrant.
The accused is charged with:
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition
- Carrying Concealed Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x3
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
