On February 23, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 37-year-old Justin Bowerman with possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose and several other offences.
Around 5:45 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone in possession of a firearm in the 100 block of Churchill Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to the area and located the accused, who matched the description of the suspect. When officers approached, the accused attempted to hide what appeared to be a firearm in a snowbank. The accused was arrested.
The item from the snowbank was recovered and determined to be a pellet gun strongly resembling a real firearm.
The accused is charged with:
- Possession of Imitation Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to attend Court x2
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order x3
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
