One Charged with Operation While Impaired, Possession of Schedule I Substances

On July 4, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 42-year-old Crystal Hache with operation while impaired and possession of schedule I substances.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., 911 communicators received a report of a driver who appeared to be using drugs in a parking lot in the 800 block of Second Line East. Officers were dispatched to the scene. Upon speaking with the driver, who identified themself as the accused, an investigation revealed they were driving while under suspension. Officers also developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. They were arrested.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers located approximately 0.71 grams of suspected fentanyl and approximately 0.67 grams of suspected cocaine.

The accused was transported to the Police Services Building for an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert, which determined the accused was impaired by drug.

The accused is charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance (Cocaine)
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl)
  • Driving While Under Suspension (under the Highway Traffic Act)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on August 10, 2026.
