On July 5, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 51-year-old Amy Triplett with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, and possession of schedule I substances.
Around 7:50 p.m., 911 Communicators received a report of someone asleep in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle in the 0-100 block of Great Northern Road. Officers were dispatched to the scene, where they located and woke the driver – later identified as the accused. Upon speaking with the accused and observing drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, officers developed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by drugs. They were arrested.
Upon searching the accused, officers located small quantities of suspected fentanyl and suspected methamphetamine.
The accused was transported to the Police Services Building for an evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert, which determined the accused was impaired by drug.
The accused is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Drug and/or Alcohol
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Drug Concentration
- Dangerous Operation
- Possession of Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl)
- Possession of Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine)
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 10, 2026.
