On April 7, 2026, officers with the Division 2 Unit charged 31-year-old Ryan Poirier with obstructing peace officers and failure to comply with conditions of a release order.
On April 3, 2026, officers patrolling Queen Street East saw the accused breaching the conditions of their release by communicating with a co-accused in a recent incident. When officers attempted to arrest them, the accused physically resisted and ran away. A warrant was obtained for their arrest.
Shortly before 2:00 p.m. on April 7, 2026, officers patrolling Wellington Street East located and arrested the accused.
The accused is charged with:
- Obstruct Peace Officer
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court x8
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
