On January 23, 2026, detectives with the Bail Compliance Unit, with assistance from Investigation Services, Patrol Services, and the Technological Crime Unit, charged 22-year-old Landon Young with luring, sexual assault, sexual interference, and other offences.
Around 5:30 p.m. on January 18, 2026, Sault Police received a report of the accused having been sexually involved with a youth under the age of 16 earlier this month. An investigation revealed the accused—knowing the victim was underage—lied about their own age to the victim and engaged in sexual activities with them on two occasions after communicating with them on a messaging app.
On January 23, 2026, detectives located and arrested the accused.
The accused is charged with:
- Luring a Person Under 16 Years of Age by Means of Telecommunication x2
- Sexual Assault on a Person Under 16 Years of Age x2
- Sexual Interference x2
- Failure to Comply with Release Order – Other Than to Attend Court x3
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
