On January 27, 2026, detectives with the Crime Suppression Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit charged 31-year-old Wymoth Williams with fraud over $5,000 and several other offences.
On January 9, 2026, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Anna Street. As a result, the accused was located inside and arrested. A search of the accused located a credit card with a name which is not the accused’s, and an identification card displaying the accused’s photograph alongside the same name as the credit card. An investigation determined the accused had fraudulently obtained the credit card using false identification and spent more than $7,000 in fraudulent transactions.
On January 27, 2026, detectives attended the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre (ATRC)—where the accused is being held in custody—and arrested the accused.
The accused is charged with:
- Fraudulent Use of Credit Card
- Fraud – Over $5,000
- Identity Fraud
- Identity Theft
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
