On March 2, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 31-year-old Andre Lapensee with dangerous operation, flight from peace officer, and several other offences.
Around 12:40 a.m. on February 24, 2026, officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Strand Avenue and Reid Street. The vehicle did not stop for police and instead drove away at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a stop sign. An investigation revealed the identity of the driver as the accused.
On March 2, 2026, officers located and arrested the accused. The accused is charged with:
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Operation While Prohibited
- Driving While Under Suspension (under the Highway Traffic Act) x2
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
