On May 28, 2026, officers with the Division 2 Unit arrested 29-year-old Jake Nicholson. The accused is charged with break and enter, assault with a weapon, and other offences.
Around 9:45 a.m. on March 24, 2026, 911 Communicators received a report of a break and enter at a multi-unit residence building in the 600 block of Queen Street East earlier that morning. An investigation by officers with Patrol Services revealed the accused unlawfully entered the building, stole a victim’s property—including their credit cards, used a stolen credit card to make a fraudulent purchase at a business, and attempted to use it at another business. The investigation also revealed the accused had been wearing a mask to disguise their face at all three locations. When confronted by an employee at one of the businesses about causing a disturbance, the accused threw an object at them. No physical injuries were reported.
On May 28, 2026, officers with the Division 2 Unit located and arrested the accused on the strength of a warrant.
The accused is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence
- Disguise with Intent x3
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3
- Mischief – Interfere with Lawful Use, Enjoyment, or Operation of Property
- Theft – Under $5,000
- Use of Credit Card x2
- Enter Premises When Entry Prohibited (under the Trespass to Property Act)
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
