On July 9, 2026, officers with Patrol Services charged 38-year-old Latisha Drinkwine of Flint, Michigan, with operation while impaired and dangerous operation after an interception by Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) officers.
Shortly after 6:30 p.m., 911 Communicators were informed the accused was in custody of CBSA officers for operation while impaired after their breath sample into an Approved Screening Device registered above the legal limit. Sault Police were dispatched to the CBSA Sault Ste. Marie port of entry and took custody of the accused.
The accused was transported to the Police Services Building where they provided multiple breath samples to a qualified technician, all of which registered above the legal limit.
The accused is charged with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and/or Drug
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80+)
- Dangerous Operation
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on August 10, 2026.
