Man Charged with Impaired Driving
On September 3, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 22-year-old Tiago Archambault-Augusto with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs.
Around 3:00 a.m. officers responded to a call of a man drinking alcohol in a vehicle in the 300 block of John Street. Upon arrival officers located the vehicle and observed an open beer bottle in the front cup holder but there was no one in the vehicle. Officers left the area and while on patrol they observed the vehicle driving in the parking lot on John Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop. Upon speaking with the driver officers identified him and observed a white powder on the middle console. The substance is believed to be a controlled substance. While speaking with the accused officers developed grounds to believe his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
He was arrested and provided two breathe samples into an approved device, registering two fail results. He is charged with impaired driving – alcohol and drugs, impaired driving – blood alcohol concentration (80+) and possession of a controlled substance. He was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on October 18, 2021.
